poems by Donald James Dolby
April is Coming
March is the anniversary of my father’s death
But April is the month that he always loved the best
He loved the change that nature will bring
Rejoiced in it each and every spring.

Birds are nesting
Fox cubs born
Flowers blooming
No more forlorn
Leaves are bursting
From the trees
Every meadow
Buzzing with bees
Bluebells carpet
The woodland floor
Sun is shining
On us once more.

So Dad I’ll enjoy it for you once again
One more spring you didn’t get to see
Eternal renewal – nature’s greatest gift
Hope will spring from every bloom,
every chrysalis and every leaf on every tree.
