poems by Donald James Dolby
Christmas Riches
Footprints glisten in the snow
Stars light up the way to show
Santa racing over tile and slate
I know a little girl who just can’t wait.

She’s just two but knows for sure
What Santa brings to her front door
Excitement building with the gifts
But our spirits too, she lifts.

Her beaming smile that we adore
Makes us remember what life is for
Worldly troubles fade to grey
When with us she comes to stay.

Can we make this world of ours
A better place of peace and flowers
Give her the chance to know the pleasure
That she brings for us to treasure.
