poems by Donald James Dolby
I Used To Work For The NHS
I used to work for the NHS
I used to work for you
But I've been sold, or so I'm told,
For the profits I accrue.

I loved my job, to help and care
Never just a chore
I only want to be a nurse
Not a corporate whore.

I was proud to work for the NHS
I was proud to work for you
But I'm not proud of what they've done
Or the profits that they screw.

So give us back our NHS
Before it's all too late
Give us back our NHS
So we can make it great.
