poems by Donald James Dolby
I Saw Them Last Night
I saw them last night
They danced and they sang
Clothed in the moonlight
Of silver and gold
They sparkled and shone
I watched and I wondered
What I might do
To share their joy.
Then they were gone
And I knew the truth
That try as I might
I could never be part
of that wondrous sight . . .
. . . But I saw
them last night!
