poems by Donald James Dolby
Endless Ride
A fairground ride for real this time
Tyres screeching, heads spinning
Minds floating in and out of the window
"Wind the window up",
"Cut your head off,
"Don't feel the pain
"Ever again."

Here we go faster than ever
Lives out of control
We can go faster, faster, faster
Who needs a road to get to the end
Who needs a car
Let's fly the rest.
"No road, no road,
It's not the end,
"Cos there is no end
We go on for ever
And ever and ever and ever . . . . ."
