poems by Donald James Dolby
Are You With Me?
Are you with me, in these hills?
Can you see what I can see?
Can you feel the sun and breeze?
Or is it darkness, nothing!

The darkness in my heart
Keeps telling me you're gone,
I only hope that you have trees,
Birds, butterflies, bees!

But I fear that I am dreaming
That there is nothing where you are
And that when I awake to reality
I will only find another nightmare.

There must be more, there must be more,
Have you found it?
Or am I wasting words
Is it THE END!

While I am here, you are here
To share these things I see
Perhaps that's all there is
Until I join you in the darkness.
